HP buys HyperSpace "instant-on" OS from Phoenix for $12 million

hp_logo.jpgHere's one interesting piece of news: HP has purchased an "instant-on" operating system called HyperSpace from Phoenix Technologies for $12 million. Reportedly, the HyperSpace OS is formed upon Linux as well as facilities the slimmed down kernel. Basically it gets we upon internet as well as lets we run simple applications such as photo browser, song player, etc. in less than 10 seconds.

Yes, the "instant-on" OS that now the days come loaded in so many netbooks.

The HyperSpace OS would be used in unstable computers especially netbooks as well as tablets. Especially after acquisition of Palm, it would be interesting to see how HP changes the program landscape.

Also at $12 million it is the smashing buy for HP.
